We are the only manufacturer of aluminium grating in New Zealand and our unique twist lock design for aluminium grating is also popular in architectural settings such as sunscreens, balustrade infill and facades. Aluminium grating is typically supplied with a plain surface but a serrated surface is also available on request for most aluminium grating types.

ALUMINIUM GRATING TYPES

Series 1 = load bars @ 30mm centres, cross bars @ 100mm centres.

Series 2 = load bars @ 40mm centres, cross bars @ 100mm centres.

Series 1 and Series 2 grating is available with load bars from 20mm to 50mm in depth and in 3mm and 5mm thick options to best suit your span requirements.

Materials:

Aluminium grating load bars are manufactured from aluminium grade 6060 T6. Other Aluminium grades are available upon request.

Mill (untreated / raw) finish (M)
Anodised (A)
Powder coated finish (P)

Standard sheet sizes:

Series 1 grating: 995mm (wide) x 5000mm (span)
Series 2 grating: 995mm (wide) x 5000mm (span)

Custom sheet sizes:

The standard length of aluminium flat bars in NZ is 5000mm, However dependant on the size of the job a mill run can be placed, this means we can manufacture sheets of grating of any dimension up to 6000mm in load bar length to ensure economy to best suit the required application. Steel grating Ltd can supply stock sheets of aluminium grating to any length up to 5000mm span (standard) or any length up to 6000mm span (custom) for clients to do their own fabrication but we typically supply a fully fabricated surface to meet your requirements.

Load bar direction (span)

It is important to check the load bar direction (span) when ordering aluminium grating as it needs to be supported in a specific way. The load bars are the flat bars standing on their edge in which the grating is manufactured from.The supports need to be at 90° (perpendicular) to the load bar direction.
